Giacchino/Firman Wedding: Kristen & Andrew say I do!

Kristen and Andrew were married on July 18, 2009 amidst a glorious Vail summer day! The sun shined on as these two said their vows on the lawn of the Larkspur. Guests could look beyond the beaming couple to an amazing view of the Gore Range as the couples Labs sat under a shady tree.

One thing everyone knew to do, after the tearful and joyful toasts and gourmet dinner, was enjoy themselves! With a favorite band of the couple flown in from San Diego, the party was kicked off post-dinner with a bang! Guests danced the night away, even begging for more after the last song. Once the band quenched the eager guests with "just one more song" the bride and groom led everyone with sparklers to a post-reception party at the Tivoli. Guests followed in the night, lit only by the sparklers, to enjoy even more festivities!

Shanahan/Sachs Wedding: Krystal & Michael said I do!

I spent three days photographing Krystal's and Michael's wedding weekend. Between the slew of toasts and my own private moments with them individually, I walked away feeling these two are loved in a very big way. The rehearsal dinner, held at Cherry Hills Country Club and attended by a hundred or so of their nearest and dearest, was where I and others enjoyed the majority of toasts. There were plenty that had lots of laughs, a few incriminating pictures of the groom as a toddler, and it all ended in tears with Michael toasting their parents and then his bride. I went home that evening reliving a few in my head and laughing out loud! A few months earlier I had asked them each to describe the other and learned he's the boisterous one and she the more reserved partner. But I had a feeling they were hiding something from me and soon found I was right! They are each so much more than the dichotomy presented that day. Together they are warm, amazing friends to those around, grounded in their roots and grounded in life, loving counter-parts, and all-around good people. They encompass the saying by truly being the salt of the earth.

I would usually now describe the wedding details, but I think this time I'll allow the slideshow below to speak for itself. All I can say is I have never seen a party quite like it! Thank you Krystal and Michael for iniviting me to enjoy it all along side you, camera in hand, documenting this weekend that you will surely look back on with a smile on July 4, 2059!

Baby Art Series III

I had the pleasure of photographing another precious bundle, just about a week old here. She is the daughter (and third baby) to Ann Marlin, owner of Nancy Chase Wedding & Celebrations. She was a perfect angel and despite not really wanting to sleep for us, we managed a few gorgeous portraits of her in a dreamy state. Each time I photograph a newborn these past few weeks I become overjoyed with the anticipation of our second baby in October! Just a few more months to go!

3 Little Bears

Well, actually, 3 little girls. And beautiful(!) with creamy white skin, lashes Maybelline would die to re-create, and jet black curls. Can I come back in life as any one of them? I should be so lucky. Don't call me the artist here....their perfect manners, sweet demeanors, and lovely looks would make a pro photographer out of any amatuer. Thank you girls for spending your morning with me and for sharing your nanny with baby Reese! We'll have her over to play again anytime!

Adams/O'Connor Wedding: Katie & Brian said I do!

Katie and Brian met their senior year at Miami University of Ohio. According to Brian he would have dated her then. But Brian would have to wait for Katie to warm up to the idea. Persistance, an obvious trait of Brian's, worked in his favor and finally, 3-1/2 years ago while in Vail for New Years Eve, Katie began to see Brian in a new light. He was just beginning work on a business degree when the two started on their adventure together in Chicago. Exactly one week before finals and graduation, Brian took the next step in his "life plan" by proposing to Katie. Just a few days prior, Brian flew to Denver for dinner with her parents, asked for their blessing, flew back that night, and Katie was none the wiser. On May 31, 2008 Brian requested an early sitting for dinner at the Red Rooster, a cozy French restaurant where they had their first date. With no other guests in the restaurant and the place loaded with floral arrangements just for them, Brian asked for her hand in marriage and of course, Katie accepted. The celebration was followed up with a gathering of friends at a local bar.

As anyone can see by the wedding, these two are so relaxed with one another and share an enormous amount of love and enthusiasm. They both shared with me how they love the other one's passion for life. Brian said with a big grin (a grin that didn't leave his face the entire wedding day), "She's sensitive and caring. And she's patient as all 1st grade teachers need to be!" Katie talked about his humor but mostly about his excitement for life, his loyalty and dedication.

The wedding featured beautiful traditional elements blended with a few Irish details in honor of their heritage including two Irish bagpipers, a surprise for Brian from Katie. But more importantly what stood out most were the happy tears from nearly everyone (including myself at times!), the heartfelt and hilarious toasts given by the Maid of Honor and Best Man, that smile which never left Brian's face each time he glanced at his bride, and Katie's easy laughter which is surely like a song for Brian's ears.

The wedding took place at The Broadmoor Hotel, flowers designed by Jean Marie Design, music provided by Heartbeat, and it all came together through the craftful hands of Celebrations by Maggie.

Wedding Season has begun: Lisa & Bill are engaged!

The wedding season is officially upon Hannah Photography and what better way to kick it off than with a couple in love! Meet Lisa and Bill. I have known Lisa for a few years having met through mutual friends and working together on YPAC (Young Professional's Advisory Council to Make-a-Wish). She has a very giving heart and is an extraordinarily creative person who comes with lots of ideas! Lisa and Bill are, simply put, a very sweet and fun couple. They humored me in the fields as we chased the dog around (or maybe the dog chased us), riding around horseback style, and dipping their toes in icey-cold water! There personalities seem to be a perfect contradiction: Bill's quiet sensibility and soft humor against Lisa's open laughter and chattiness. I had a great time photographing them, with perfect weather ending with just a few drops of rain. Thank you and I'm looking forward to the wedding in January!
